Overview

As part of Comptroller Stringer's ongoing efforts to increase transparency and promote equal opportunity, the M/WBE Spending website was created to track City government spending with Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs).

This webpage provides nearly real-time spending information for the City's 100+ agencies with M/WBE-certified vendors. The information reflects actual agency expenditures, rather than projected numbers based on contracts, but does not currently include sub-contracting data. For “Making the Grade,” Comptroller Stringer’s letter grades for M/WBE procurement among city agencies, click here.

Making the Grade

The M/WBE Spending website displays all Agency payments to M/WBE prime certified vendors, with no payments excluded due to industry classification or contract dollar limits. However “Making the Grade”, Comptroller Stringer’s M/WBE letter grade report for City agencies, excludes M/WBE vendor payments that are not covered by Local Law 1 and assigns letter grades to City Agencies based on their spending with M/WBE vendors. To read “Making the Grade”, learn more about Local Law 1, or see the letter grade of a specific Agency, click here.
